Our Junior Drama Program for children aged 5-10 is aimed at developing basic acting skills, but also has a strong emphasis on fun, engagement and interaction with others.
When are the Junior classes?
Classes are held weekly during the school term at Elwood College and there is a choice of two times:
Wednesday 4.30-5.30pm Saturday 10.30-11.30am
What do Junior students learn?
Some of the theatrical activities and skills taught as part of the Junior Drama Program include:
- Basic circus skills
- Puppetry
- Voice projection
- Theatre sports
- Basic mask
- Relaxation through yoga
- Conveying stereotypes
- Fragmented fairytales
- Performing to a live audience
- Improvisation techniques
- Creating a character
- Behind the scenes
All students who have been enrolled for at least one term and are in attendance during the final term are welcome to participate in the end-of-year theatrical production (There will be a nominal show fee for the participants).
How can I enrol my child?
All classes follow the four school terms and are $20/class with minimum attendance of one term.
