WELCOME TO THE JESSICA JACOBS SCHOOL OF DRAMA

Our Melbourne-based drama programs are developed and conducted by Joanna Jacobs – a fully qualified secondary school drama teacher who has spent more than 25 years involved with the arts.

Joanna and her team believe drama is about fun and learning valuable life skills just as much as it is about developing talent and a love of theatre.

Our drama school is named after Jessica Jacobs – a young Melbourne actress who performed in both theatrical and TV productions including the top Australian children’s drama Saddle Club.

Her attitude and legacy provide the inspiration for our programs which focus on developing confidence and self-esteem as well as dramatic talent in young people through a number of drama programs.

Term-long classes are divided into junior and senior age groups for school age students up to the age of 16 and are held at the Elwood College in Glenhuntly Road, Elwood. There are two weekly sessions – including Saturday mornings – to choose from.

Taking part in a drama program – including end of year productions and other showcase events offers a wealth of fun and diverse benefits for young people including improved self esteem, development of creative skills and the opportunity to meet and interact with new friends.

We can also assist with auditioning and agency representation for students who would like to become commercially involved in acting.

Enrol now for 2010 or contact us for more information. Students can join at anytime throughout the year.
