Senior Programs

Our Senior Drama Program for children aged 11-16 uses a variety of techniques to develop young peoples’ acting skills and knowledge of theatre. Improved self-esteem, heightened communications skills and strong self-awareness are just some of the benefits we see in senior students who participate in drama classes. Plus there is always a lot of fun and the advantage of working with other students in a team environment towards a final goal.
When are the Senior classes?
Classes are held weekly during the school term at Elwood College and there is a choice of two times:
Wednesday 5.30-6.30pm Saturday 11.30am-12.30pm
What do Senior students learn?
Some of the theatrical activities and skills taught as part of the Senior Drama Program include:
- Circus skills
- Voice projection
- Character transformation
- Object transformation
- Relaxation through basic yoga techniques
- Mime
- Melodrama
- Mask
- Non Naturalism
- Communication through movement
- Interpreting a script
- Shakespeare made easy
- Commedia del arte character analysis and movement
- Non realistic theatre
- Monologues
All students who have been enrolled for at least one term and are in attendance during the final term are welcome to participate in the end-of-year theatrical production (There will be a nominal show fee for the participants).
How can I enrol my child?
All classes follow the four school terms and are $20/class with minimum attendance of one term.
